Donations
Here's how you can help us make progress on our wide range of projects
and reach our goal of a working heritage railway and museum.
Buy the VoBR a coffee
We’re launching our ‘Buy us a Coffee’ appeal to help fund our new rolling stock shed and machine shop at Oldminster Sidings.
We know our members and supporters want to see this exciting project succeed. So we’re asking you to dedicate £10 each month (or maybe more) to help us progress from ongoing construction project to fully operational heritage railway centre.
JustGiving does not charge us a fee for their donations platform. Instead, when you donate you can choose if you want to contribute towards their running costs.

Be a monthly supporter
What does coffee have to do with it? £10 a month is less than the price of a barista cup of coffee every week. It’s about £2.30 a week or 30p a day! That’s affordable for most people yet very valuable to the VoBR, because a continuous income stream
means you’ll be helping to drive our progress month by month.
Please click on the JustGiving button to sign up to our ‘Buy the VoBR a Coffee Appeal’. If you’d prefer to donate via direct debit, please email us and we’ll get in touch to set up your donation.

Full Steam Ahead
The VoBR is focused on moving out of the old Sharpness Dock diesel shed and establishing our operations and maintenance base at Oldminster Sidings in the next few months. Our brilliant volunteers have been renovating the permanent way, sourcing replacement sleepers and point timbers, submitting the planning application for our new shed and applying for an ORR permit to run trains on our site.
Once our new shed and infrastructure are in place and we’ve honed our operating proficiency through brake van rides and driver experiences, we can step up our talks with Network Rail about access to the four mile branch line up to Berkeley Road.
Donate as much as you feel you can afford each month and we’ll soon see the foundations laid and the shed going up.
Leave a legacy
Have you thought about leaving a gift to the VoBR in your Will? You'll be leaving a lasting legacy that can help ensure others – perhaps your children and grandchildren – enjoy heritage trains on our branch line for years to come.
Leaving a legacy for the VoBR is easy. We can even arrange a solicitor to draft your Will if you wish. To find out more or get started, please email us.

100 Club
A fantastic fund raising initiative that allows you to have a bit of a flutter at the same time!
Purchase up to five tickets @ £16 each which will be entered into the next four quarterly draws. In each draw two winners will each receive 25% of the total value of the subscriptions for the quarter. The remaining 50% goes to the railway to help fund its development and projects.
Draws will take place on the 1st day of each quarter, namely March, June, September & December. If you win, we will post a cheque to your home address and the name of the winner published in the Vale of Berkeley Railway News Magazine and on our website.
Support a favourite project
If you want to support a specific Vale of Berkeley Railway project with a lump sum, please email us to tell us which project that is. We'll be in touch to thank you for your generosity and explain how to make your donation.
Please note, occasionally we might have to pause a project or stop it completely. In that rare event, we will contact you to discuss other VoBR projects your donation could benefit.
