Ruston Gearbox update

Now to remove the large casting on top of the 2nd clutch shaft.

And then the 2nd clutch shaft was lifted out.

Here it is with one of the outer cones removed.

And here is the cone showing its linings.

These all looked in usable condition.

Now we had to free off the stuck clutch. We could test the movement by using compressed air. Then it was making new locking pins for the screwed collars.

After painting the housing inside and out it was refitted along with the 2nd clutch shaft.

Previously the appropriately 2 inches of sludge in the bottom of the gearbox was removed.
